"The Enjoyment starts in front of the lens,

the Art comes after the lens" ©

I began photography in 1968 while working my way through college. Armed with a Mamiya DTL500 SLR camera and only black & white processing, I explored the art at it very basics.
Being young and going to college as well as being married with a beautiful daughter and son, I could not afford the cost of color developing and processing - so I was not able to develop all that I would have like and did most of my work in black & white. With the advent of digital cameras cost effective computers with programs that allow enhancements - I quickly found the way to explore let many view his works economically. Now being retired from the U.S.A.F. - I have the capability and time to share with the world of what I see through the lens.  I now also have time to do my other hobbies - like fish, woodwork and help my community grow.

Traveling through-out the world with the Air Force I settled in my favorite part of the U.S.A.

Southern Illinois.  I spend many hours shooting Southern Illinois's beauty and I now presents Southern Illinois to you from behind the lens. I hope you enjoy my art or photography as much as I do taking the photos.

My only hope is that
you enjoy what I see.

With an appetite to shoot things others don't and with today's digital capability - my pictures hedge on more art than photography - but this is for you to determine.

I continues to explore possibilities and strives for excellence.

If you like my photos - I do offer them for sale. If you are looking for something special - ask as I have many that are not on the website. Special Orders are welcome.

Just a note: if you are curious why larryDEE - I can thank my grandmother; she raised my brothers and me.  Being a good Alabamian, she would come to the back door and instead of ringing the bell when supper was ready and she would yell Larry Dee twice. I never let her yell the third time as I was always ready to eat. She also knew that my brothers would follow. May she rest in peace knowing that we loved her and I dedicate my art to her.
